We are looking for an experienced Switchgear Engineer to join our team for a project in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the inspection, testing, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) switchgear and protection systems. The engineer will lead site activities, coordinate with clients, and ensure all work complies with applicable electrical safety standards and project specifications.
- Lead switchgear and protection activities on site. - Plan and supervise testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting work. - Review technical drawings, protection settings, and testing procedures. - Perform and verify relay testing, circuit breaker testing, CT/PT testing, and functional testing. - Diagnose switchgear and protection system faults and recommend corrective actions. - Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project teams. - Prepare technical reports, commissioning records, and inspection documentation. - Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and company safety procedures. - Mentor technicians and monitor quality of work.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in MV/HV Switchgear and Protection Systems. Strong knowledge of AIS, GIS, RMU, VCB, SF6 breakers, protection relays, and control systems. Experience in testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs, and protection schematics. Experience using OMICRON, Megger, Doble, ISA, or similar testing equipment. Good communication and leadership skills. Experience in substations, industrial facilities, or EPC projects is preferred.
