Construction Supervisors

Part of our Construction recruitment

Supervisors manage a work crew or trade group on site, translating engineering and planning instructions into daily task assignments and monitoring output and safety compliance.

Typical Responsibilities

Assigning and monitoring daily tasks for a crew
First-line safety and quality compliance checks
Reporting progress and issues to site engineers/management

What to Specify When Requesting This Role

The trade background the supervisor needs (a masonry supervisor and an MEP supervisor need different backgrounds)
The crew size they'll be responsible for
Reporting line β€” direct to a site engineer, a project manager, or another layer of supervision

Screening Considerations

Screening looks at prior crew-size and trade-specific supervisory experience, not just time served as a tradesperson β€” supervising a crew is a distinct skill from performing the trade work itself.

Recruitment Considerations

Employers usually specify the trade background and prior crew-size experience relevant to the project.
